“The Only Constant in Life Is Change” - Heraclitus

The same is true about writing business proposals. If you want to keep up with the Joneses (aka your competitors who win more deals than you do), we suggest you change how you write your proposals.

Long gone are the days where you could impress your customers with fluff, guff, geek, or weasel, as Dr Tom Sant calls non-functional language.

The way to achieve clarity in your writing is to:
  • Use short sentences
  • Use short words
  • Write in active voice
  • Avoid long, dependent clauses
  • Start each paragraph with the key idea

You can unlearn the wrong and relearn the right way to communicate and articulate important messages in your business proposals.

It all boils down to using the language of success, language that works because it conveys information clearly and quickly.
